Ana Lucia Negri (1985, Lima, Perú) is a photography, text and mixed media artist who lives and works in Brussels. The main subject of Negri’s work are perception, memory and the unconscious, nourished by the relation of photography with the human mind and cognition. Furthermore, she’s fascinated with the parallell between photography and the eye; the sensible world and the human experience; the explicit and the implicit; the verbalizable and the sensorial; the conscious and the unconscious. Her art-making process consists of darkroom, writing, conceptualizing and lots of time passing. While the support mutes constantly, there’s consistency in the use of photography (photosensitive supports of different kinds) and installation to create a space of intuitive contemplation.
